Frisbee

Today I sat in a lot of sand and played with a very big round pink circle. Mama called it a frisbee. It was very smooth and very, very big. It was a lot bigger than the bowl Mama uses to feed me. I liked to move the frisbee all around the sand and then pick it up and chomp on the sides. Sometimes it would get stuck in the sand, but I would dig it back out with my legs.

When I chomped on the frisbee I got a mouthful of frisbee... and sand. That didn't taste very good. Sometimes I used the frisbee as a gigantic bowl. I would lift sand out of it and eat it. That didn't taste very good. I wish I could remember that I don't like to eat sand.

I give the frisbee 3 out of 5 binkys. It was fun to play with something that Mama and Dada like to play with. It made me feel like a big Mama. It was fun to chew on, but also sort of heavy. It also had a lot of sand all over it (like my binky by the end of the day). I'm glad Mama got the sand off of my binky before she gave it back to me. If only the frisbee had a big non-sandy binky glued to it - that would be perfect!

Purse

I am still on vay-cay-shun with Mama and Dada. We are not sleeping at home but in a new place with one big bed. Mama and Dada brought my nap bed here so I have a place to sleep. Some of my stuff is in The Room, but most of it is not. Mama and Dada are staying in The Room with me and I like it.

Today Mama let me roll and climb all over The Room bed. I also found her purse today! Mama usually never lets me play with it, but once I tipped it over and everything fell out, she giggled so I assumed it was okay.

I found Mama's card with her picture on it and a lot of small hard little cards. I also found shiny tubes and paper, which I tried to eat. I also chewed on the purse which felt wonderful on my gums.

I give Mama's purse 3 out of 5 binkys. It was fun to chew on, fun to tip it over and watch the silver and gold circles fall out, and fun to crinkle all of the paper. I don't think Mama will let me play with it much, so I think I need a purse of my own. That way, I could put Dolly, my sunscreen, and my raspberry binky inside and tip them out whenever I wanted!

Suntan Lotion

Today I am playing with suntan lotion. I am on vacation with Mama and Dada. We are at a place where there is a lot of water. A LOT of water. Bathtubs and bathtubs of water. There is also a lot of sand.

Mama says that when I'm in the sun I have to wear suntan lotion. I don't like it much when she slathers it all over my face, but I love when she is done and she puts the tube next to me. The big cap on the lotion is PERFECT for me to chew on. The squishy tube makes it easy for my little hands to hold. The end of the tube has a flat part where I can chomp, chomp on - but I have to be careful. The corners can get a little pokey on my gums.

Overall, I give the suntan lotion 4 out of 5 binkys. Everything is wonderful to chew on, but suntan lotion gets a lot of sand on it. I ate a lot of sand today already. My binky got a lot of sand on it and my hands got full of sand. I didn't drink the water, but maybe I'll try tomorrow after I eat my suntan lotion sand!

Rug

Today I am playing with Rug. Rug is in my room on the floor. Mama likes to lay me down on Rug to put me in my jammies. She often says, Lyla! Stop squirming so much! I don't know what that means. All I know is that I don't really like the part where she shoves my enormous baby arms into the tiny baby onesie sleeves. I wonder why I need clothes on at all.

I don't know if you heard, but I learned how to crawl over the weekend. It was a pretty big deal. Mama picked me up and ran with me all over the house to celebrate. I liked that. So, now when Mama puts me on Rug before bed, I flip over on to my stomach and then crawl all around the floor. Today, Mama put a surprise under it! It was really hard to figure out how to get to it. I would lift Rug up with one hand and before I could reach for the surprise, Rug would fall back down. It was a pretty fun game and I finally figured out how to get the surprise. I tossed Rug up with all of my might and it didn't come down again! The surprise was mine. It was a book. And then I was bored.

I give Rug 3 out of 5 binkys. It is easy to lie down on and crawl around on, but very frustrating as a surprise hider.

Gloworm

Today I am playing with the Playskool Lullaby Gloworm.

I've actually been playing with Gloworm since I was about 2 days old. Mama would put Gloworm in my bed or my bouncy chair to help me fall asleep.

Gloworm plays many songs that help put me to sleep. His whole face LIGHTS up when he plays music. When the music fades, his light goes slowly, slowly, slowly out. Then Gloworm is dark and quiet. When Mama comes over and touches him he plays and lights up again! I'm not sure how she gets him started again, but I'm excited to figure it out.

Gloworm plays at least 5 different songs.
They don't last very long, though. And the songs start to sound sad when the bat-tur-rees stop working. Mama sometimes sings to the songs along with Gloworm, but her face doesn't light up. That would be silly!

Overall, I give Gloworm 5 out of 5 binkys. He is SO comforting, plays excellent baby sleeping music, and his bright, bright face usually distracts me from crying.

I wonder if there are any other Glofriends I could also have? Like Glo-cows? Glo-birds? I'll have to ask Mama.

Toothbrush

Today I am playing with the Baby Banana Brush. It's not really a banana. Mama once let me eat a little banana but I didn't like it very much. I heard Dada and Mama talking about getting another banana for me, but so far, I've only been given this banana (but I don't think it's a REAL banana).

Mama uses the banana to brush my gums for me at night. I usually grab the banana and do it myself. I am a big girl. It is SO easy to hold for my little hands. I like to take the soft tickly part and chew all over it. Mama usually
smiles when I do this, so I'm assuming I must be brushing the right way!

I give the banana brush 5 out of 5 binkys. It's the perfect size for me, my hands, and my gums.

The only thing I don't understand is why Mama keeps calling my banana a tooth brush. What's a tooth?

Dolly

Today I am playing with the Oshkosh Plush Rattle Doll, known as Dolly.

I know I am the baby of the family, but Mama likes to give me Dolly to play with so I can pretend she is MY baby. I don't really want to do that, so instead I try to eat her feet.

Dolly is very soft and has a rattle inside. When Mama picks ME up, I do not rattle. Dolly is a silly baby. Dolly also wears the same thing every day and has her hair in perfect piggy-tails. I like to pick her up and shake, shake, shake her and then throw her as far as I can. Mama sometimes gives her kisses and then makes Dolly give me kisses. I don't want Dolly kisses, but sometimes I giggle because Dolly's piggy-tails tickle my face.

I give Dolly 2 out of 5 binkys. She is soft and is fun to shake, but I can't do much else with her after that.

Hang on, Dolly. I'm sure you and I will be best buddies soon. For now? Give me my Mama and her kisses any day.

Fish Bowl

Today I am playing with the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Musical Fish Bowl. My Grand-mama gave me this fish home for my baptism. I'm not sure what baptism means, I just know that I got water on my forehead and I got to wear a pretty dress. I'm sure I'll learn more about that soon.

Aaaaaanyway...

My Grand-mama gave me this toy a couple of months ago and I was pretty unsure of how to play with it. Mama would set it in front of me and I would tip it over. And then look at her. And then tilt my head. Now what? It wasn't that much fun. But tonight! Oh, tonight. I was on to that bowl of fish. I moved it all around and made the fishies dance around inside! The music played, the fishies swam, and then I reached inside and GRABBED one. I looked at Mama and gave her a BIG smile. I did it.

The only real problem is that once the fishies are outside of the bowl, THEN what do you do? Hmmm.

I give this fish bowl 3 out of 5 binkys. The fishies are easy for my hands to grab, the music is nice (although Mama wishes they played more songs - she starts to make up her own fish songs after awhile), and the lights are fun to look at. The only thing I would like is to see through both side of the fish bowl and that it wasn't so heavy (sometimes when I'm moving it towards me I topple over).

Hopefully Mama puts some more fishies inside for me to play with again soon. Thank you Grand-mama for all of the fishies and their lighted fish home.

Basket

Today I'm playing with all of my toys. Mama likes to put all of my toys away every night. I like to take them all out. I typically use my pudgy hand to grab a toy, look at it, gum it, and then throw it down and search for my next toy.

My purple basket makes this
SOOOO easy.

I sit next to the basket and grab the sides and PULL it towards me. I then lean over as far as I can to grab all of the toys out. Sometimes my big belly gets in the way, but then I just topple over inside of the basket to get the toys. Sometimes Mama lets me stand next to the basket while she hangs on to me, so I can dive for toys.

Sometimes Mama puts ME in the basket. Silly Mama.

I give this
basket 3 out of 5 binkys. I think the basket is probably more for Mama, but the wheels on the bottom make it easy to pull towards me, it's a fun purple and pink color, and it holds all of my toys.

Now if I could just find the binky basket...

Magazine

Today I am playing with the New Yorker. This thing is amazing!

Mama told me I couldn't eat any of it, and I did my very best.

I grabbed the front and back cover and whipped it over my head and flung it against the wall. Magically the pages came off! Then I ripped and ripped and ripped the pages until they were scattered all over me. I hope Mama gives me another New Yorker. She did say she didn't want me playing with her books. I wonder why not?

Overall, I give this "toy" 4 out of 5 binkys. I can sit up or lay on my stomach to play with it, it makes noises, scrunches up easily, and tears like a dream.

I'm looking forward to shredding pages 1 and 2 tomorrow.

Raspberry

Mama has found something that is almost BETTER than the binky: the RaZ-Berry binky. It's a binky that LOOKS like a raspberry, or so I've been told. I've only seen milk and mushed up carrots. My good friend Glow Worm is holding on to the raspberry binky for me in this picture. She's a good friend.

I like to chew all over this binky. I take it out and chew on the red part, then take it out and chew on the green part. Chomp, chomp, chomp. Then I take it out and look at it, and start chewing all over again. Sometimes it makes a little squeak squeak sound as I chew on it, then my puppy
comes running over because she thinks I will give it to her.

I never do. Bad puppy.

I give this Raz-Berry 5 out of 5 binkys. Whenever I play with it I'm in a terrific mood, I can chew on it better than my other binkys, and it's easy for my little hands to hold. Every baby should have this!
