Smiley Face

Today I am playing with one of my all-time favorite toys: The Sassy Smiley Face Rattle. Also known as, the Squeaky Nose Mirror.

This toy is a baby's dream. On one side is a HUGE smiley face. The eyes are googly and move all around when you shake it. The ears are actually the handles and have rubber on them so they are easy to hold and feels great on the gums. The BEST part of the smiley face is the huge, red, squeaky nose. When I'm playing with the toy, Mama will come over and SQUEAK-A, SQUEAK-A, SQUEAK-A the nose. I can't quite get the nose to squeak on my own, but every once in a while when I try to get the nose in my mouth, I sometimes squeak it.

On the other side is a mirror! And inside the mirror is a really pretty baby. Sometimes when I look at the baby in the mirror, I slowly move my head forward so I finally end up kissing the baby. Such a nice baby.

Overall, I give this toy 5 out of 5 binkys. Seriously. What could be improved? It's easy to hold, lovely to gum, has funny sounds, and a REALLY cute baby that I see in the mirror!

Now if I could just get Mama's nose to squeak...

Fish Bowl

Today I am playing with the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Musical Fish Bowl. My Grand-mama gave me this fish home for my baptism. I'm not sure what baptism means, I just know that I got water on my forehead and I got to wear a pretty dress. I'm sure I'll learn more about that soon.

Aaaaaanyway...

My Grand-mama gave me this toy a couple of months ago and I was pretty unsure of how to play with it. Mama would set it in front of me and I would tip it over. And then look at her. And then tilt my head. Now what? It wasn't that much fun. But tonight! Oh, tonight. I was on to that bowl of fish. I moved it all around and made the fishies dance around inside! The music played, the fishies swam, and then I reached inside and GRABBED one. I looked at Mama and gave her a BIG smile. I did it.

The only real problem is that once the fishies are outside of the bowl, THEN what do you do? Hmmm.

I give this fish bowl 3 out of 5 binkys. The fishies are easy for my hands to grab, the music is nice (although Mama wishes they played more songs - she starts to make up her own fish songs after awhile), and the lights are fun to look at. The only thing I would like is to see through both side of the fish bowl and that it wasn't so heavy (sometimes when I'm moving it towards me I topple over).

Hopefully Mama puts some more fishies inside for me to play with again soon. Thank you Grand-mama for all of the fishies and their lighted fish home.

Exersaucer

Today I am playing with the Baby Einstein Discover and Play exersaucer. My friend William gave it to me. Mama says he "loaned" it to me, but I'm not sure I want to know what that really means.

Let me count the ways I love this toy.
  • One. I can flip my 2-paged big-girl book pages back and forth, back and forth. If I lean far enough forward, I can also gum the purple sides.
  • Two. I can cram the entire triangle on the soft tower of shapes in my mouth. I think if I get bigger, I can get that square in as well.
  • Three. When I lean on the big buttons I hear MOOOO and COW and VACA. I have no idea what these mean. But when I lean on it again, music plays! Mama always dances along to the music and claps her hands. How does she do that?
  • Four. I can bend the happy star to me and drool all over it for minutes.
  • Five. I can turn around and around and around and around in the seat. Every time I turn myself, I find a new toy to play with! Mama helps by putting new toys all around the seat so I can pick up and throw a toy as I go around.

There are only a couple of things I don't like. There is a soft dinosaur that I never play with. I wish it would get out of my way so I could see Mama. I like how big the seat is, but I often lose the toys that Mama sets on the top. This makes me angry when I can hear my baby radio, but it's stuck by my tummy.

I give the exersaucer 5 out of 5 binkys. It is easy to play in, lets me play standing up like a big girl, and doesn't let me topple over.

Why would William ever give this up?

Mailbox

Today I am playing with the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn™ Learning Letters Mailbox. Or as I call it, my mailbox.

I love to twirl the little ball on the snail. I love to flip, and flip, and flip that little ball and make it twirl as fast as I can.

I can open the mailbox door, but it's not very fun after that. The handle is small to hold for my pudgy hands, but I’m a smart girl and can do it by myself. I keep trying to grab the little birdie on the top. He doesn’t do much and is hard to move to get the music to play, but maybe as I get bigger I will learn how to take it off.

Sometimes I do topple the entire thing on myself, but Mama helps hold it down for me.

Sometimes when I open the mailbox, a binky is sitting there! I wonder how it gets there? The music is fun, but I wish the woman didn’t say “let’s mail some LETTTEEEERRRRSSSS” so loudly. Mama is getting sick of hearing it, and so am I.

Overall, I would give it 3 out of 5 binkys. It’s easy to play with, provides me a distraction from my binky, and is amusing enough for Mama to play with it.

Now, if I could only figure out how to mail a letter.
